EpisodeBrief takes the post-production paperwork off an episode without taking the editorial decisions away from the person who made it.
Why it exists
Recording an episode is the part people want to do. Writing the notes, cutting the chapters, naming the thing and producing captions is the part that quietly delays a release by a week. EpisodeBrief does that pass and hands it back as a draft.
The draft is the point. Every output is written against your transcript and reviewed by you before it reaches anyone. We would rather ship a tool that saves an afternoon and is honest about its limits than one that promises to publish for you.
How the service is run
This is how the application is deployed, not a claim about anyone else's infrastructure.
One immutable image
The application ships as a single container image. Every environment runs the same build, and configuration arrives as environment variables rather than as an edit on a live machine.
Self-hosted object storage
Episode media and derived files live on storage we run, reached from the server over TLS. The browser never sees the storage endpoint, the bucket, or a signed storage URL.
A typed provider registry
Transcription, structured generation, keyword metrics, email, billing, moderation and malware scanning each sit behind a typed contract. Development runs against deterministic fakes that open no network sockets at all.
Postgres is the authority
Every processing state, event and attempt is recorded in Postgres. The queue is treated as disposable: if it is lost, a reconciler rebuilds the work from the database rather than dropping your episode.
Disclosed retention
Every class of stored file has a retention window recorded in the retention registry. Account deletion is requested by email at the privacy address; self-service deletion in settings is not available.
Languages
The interface ships in seven languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Russian and Chinese. Arabic is laid out right-to-left throughout rather than mirrored as an afterthought.
Support is offered by email in English only. That limitation is disclosed on every option that carries it rather than discovered after purchase.
