Answers, grouped by where you are

Every answer below describes what EpisodeBrief does today. If something here is not covered, the last section has the address to write to.

Getting started

What you need before an episode can run, and what EpisodeBrief accepts as an input.

Do I need an account before I can try it?

Yes. EpisodeBrief processes nothing before a verified payment, so there is no anonymous upload and no trial run. The sample page shows a complete synthetic bundle so you can see the output shape before you decide.

What can I upload?

An audio file, a direct MP3/M4A link, an RSS feed, a public episode page, or a YouTube link.

Do I need to pay before anything is processed?

Yes. Processing starts after you choose a plan or an Episode Pass. You can create an account and review the sample first.

What do I get from one episode?

Show notes, a speaker-labeled transcript, chapter timestamps, four title options with measured search opportunity, and platform descriptions for Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and WordPress.

Processing

What happens between adding an episode and getting a draft back, and what a run does when it cannot finish.

What happens if a run does not finish?

Processing state lives in the database rather than in the queue, so an interrupted run can be resumed or retried without uploading the file again. A run that fails at transcription because the audio carries no usable speech stops there instead of drafting notes about silence.

Does EpisodeBrief download my YouTube video?

No. EpisodeBrief requests native captions first and a provider-generated transcript only after the provider confirms native captions are absent. It never downloads YouTube audio or video.

How are title options scored?

Title options are scored against search data, and you can rescore them within your account's allowance. The score is an input to your decision, not a ranking promise for your episode.

Publishing and export

What you can take away at the end, and how a page becomes public in the first place.

Can I change the drafts before anyone sees them?

Everything arrives as a draft in the editor. Each edit is stored as a revision you can read back, and nothing becomes public until you approve that publication.

What is on a public episode page?

The transcript and the notes you approved for that episode, on a page you can unpublish again. A show or episode page is never public by default.

Can I edit the results before publishing?

Yes. Every transcript, note, chapter, and title is editable before you export or publish.

Do my episodes get published automatically?

No. Publishing is an explicit choice per episode — nothing goes public on its own.

Billing

Options, renewals, refunds, and what the one-off Episode Pass does and does not include.

Is there a trial period?

No. Processing starts once you choose and pay for a plan. Review the sample episode first to see the exact output.

Do subscriptions renew automatically?

Yes. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew at their displayed billing interval until you cancel.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are available within a limited window after purchase. Contact support to request one.

Can I buy one episode without a subscription?

Yes. The Episode Pass is a separate one-time purchase and does not renew.

How does billing work?

Solo and Pro are monthly or yearly subscriptions. The Episode Pass is a one-time purchase, and top-up packs are one-time add-ons for Solo and Pro subscribers. Each offer shows what's included.

Security and data

What happens to a file you upload, how long things are kept, and how to remove them.

What happens to a file I upload?

It goes into private quarantine first, is scanned for malware, and is probed to confirm it really is the media it claims to be. Only after both checks pass is it promoted for processing.

How do I delete an episode or my whole account?

Delete an episode from your library. To delete the whole account, email the privacy address from the address on the account; deletion from settings is not available. Every stored-file class also has a disclosed retention window.

How long is my data kept?

Retention windows are bounded and shown on the pricing page. You can request deletion of your account and its data at any time by emailing the privacy address.

Languages

Which languages the interface ships in, and which language support is answered in.

Which languages is the interface available in?

Seven: English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Russian and Chinese. Arabic is laid out right-to-left throughout, and each language has its own complete set of copy.

Which language is support answered in?

English. That limitation is disclosed on every option that carries it, so it is never a surprise after purchase.
