What EpisodeBrief does with an episode

One episode in, a publish-ready bundle out. Everything below is in the product today; the last section lists what it does not do.

Getting an episode in

  • Upload an audio file

Send an audio file straight from your machine. Every upload is scanned for malware before any processing starts.

  • Paste a link

A direct MP3 or M4A URL, an RSS feed, or a public episode page. EpisodeBrief resolves the link down to the playable audio behind it.

  • Import a YouTube transcript

EpisodeBrief requests native captions first. Only after the provider confirms they are absent does it request a provider-generated transcript. It never downloads YouTube audio or video.

What one episode produces

  • Speaker-labelled transcript

A clean reading transcript and a verbatim transcript, both speaker-labelled, plus SRT and VTT caption files.

  • Show notes

A summary and a set of show notes written from the transcript and checked back against it before they are stored.

  • Chapters

Chapter markers with timestamps, placed where the episode changes subject.

  • Four scored title options

Four title options, each scored against search data and shown with the evidence behind the score. Rescore them within your allowance.

  • Five highlights

Five quotable passages pulled from the transcript, each with its timestamp.

  • Platform copy

One description per publishing target — Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and WordPress — shaped to that platform's length limits.

Reviewing before you publish

  • Edit in the browser

Change any part of the result in your browser. Every edit is kept as a revision you can read back.

Getting it out

  • Export bundle

Download the transcript, captions, show notes, chapters, titles and platform descriptions as one .zip.

  • Public pages

Publish a show page or an episode page. A page goes public only once you approve that publication.

Your workspace

  • Seven interface languages

The interface ships in seven languages, listed below. Your episode content stays in its own language.

    • English
    • Español
    • Français
    • Deutsch
    • العربية
    • Русский
    • 中文
  • Library graph

Browse your shows, episodes and their topics as a graph as well as a list.

How your material is handled

  • Disclosed retention

Every stored artifact has a written retention window, from the source audio to the generated bundle.

  • Uploads are scanned

Every uploaded file is scanned for malware before it reaches transcription.

  • Account deletion

Request account deletion by email at the privacy address. Self-service deletion in settings is not available.

  • Source available

The application source is published under AGPL-3.0-or-later.

What it does not do

  • No free plan

There is no free plan and no trial. Processing starts after a paid activation.

  • YouTube is transcript-only

YouTube stays transcript-only: native captions first, then a provider-generated transcript only after the provider confirms native captions are absent. EpisodeBrief never downloads YouTube audio or video.

  • Support is in English

Support runs by email, in English only, whichever interface language you use.
